OMG!! AMAZING!! Toronto Blue Jays Rajai Davis climbs the left field wall to rob New York Yankees Casey McGehee of a home run! No Blue Jay ever had scaled the 10-foot outfield wall at Rogers Centre/SkyDome and successfully catch a would-be home run into an out. Not Devon White, not Shawn Green, not Vernon Wells, all Gold Glovers!! (click here or the video link to the right). This is likely Davis’ career-defining game. Along with this incredible catch, he hit 2 doubles that drove in a career high 5 RBI’s. As the announcer says, this may be the Play of the Year!!

The wall at Rogers Center is 10 feet high. The 5-9 Davis, using the wall for a boost, timed his leap perfectly and reached over for the catch. Davis said, “It’s something that [hitting coach Dwayne Murphy] and I talked about earlier in the year. We talked about planting the leg, getting up over the wall. But it takes a perfect ball to be able to time that right, and then the ball coming down, it takes perfect timing. I think we were able to establish that.”
