A breathtakingly beautiful photo of dusk settling over Fenway Park in Boston, Massachusetts, with the Toronto Blue Jays on the field. Rookie Aaron Laffey pitched a gem of a ball game and the Jays ended up sweeping the Boston Red Sox (won all three games in Boston). Two of Laffey’s five starts this season were against Boston and he has yet to give up a run; he’s at 13 scoreless innings and counting! Go Laffey go!

Footnote: This was also the day that the Jays’ GM Alex Anthopolous made a huge 10 player trade with the Houston Astros. We finally got rid of the terrible Francisco Cordero (batters were hitting .340 against him – that’s all-star caliber; only it’s bad for the Jays). We also gave them some minor leaguers and mostly unused bench player Ben Francisco, for some much needed relief pitching help with 3 veterans: J.A. Happ, Brandon Lyon and David Carpenter.

Update: The recently traded Cordero ends up blowing two saves the very first two games that he pitches for the Astros. Good trade AA… lol
